What news on the Rialto?

Aperol is still Venice's favourite drink.

Torbolino is the Italian equivalent of Dederweisse in Gemany or Sturm in Austria. This one is from Verduzzo

Il Torbolino e arivato!

Instead of Verduzzo and Raboso, Venetians now prefer Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon as their daily vino sfuso.

Mazzorbo is not the only island in the lagoon to grow grapevines. Now Saint Erasmo has its own vineyard and wine and at E.24.90 it undecuts the Dorona from Venissa by E.70.10.

'Orto' is the brainchild of Michel Thoulouze, former head of Canal+. He has planted Malvasia d'Istria, Vermentino and Fiano.

The Fondazione dei Tedeschi on the Canal Grande by the Rialto has been refurbished by Rem Koolhaas and is now a temple to every big brand you have heard of,

The wine department is no different. Brands.

At the Coop, Pignoletto was giving Prosecco a good run for its money.

That's all, folks.
