Floreal is a Villaris x Mtp 3159-2-12 cross by INRA, France. Interesting that Villaris and Mtp 3159-2-12 are both Geiwilerhof grapes. Interesting too that nowhere can you find where this Floreal was grown apart from a vague reference to 'Our idyllic vineyards.' Not naming the geographic terroir must be a first in France.
The name Floreal is increasingly heard in connection with the approval of resistant varieties in French vineyards. In Beaujolais for example.
So what does it taste like? On opening, not very interesting but much later after having a bit of Argon spayed on it in the bottle and kept in the fridge for a couple of days - very interesing indeed!
Hats of to everyone concerned, especially Tesco.
