Could Oaken Grove Pinot Noir be UK best?

Oaken Grove is in Fawley Buckinghamshire where there are two other vineyards: Fawley Vineyard and our own hobby and experimental vineyard at Last Cottage.

Oaken Grove is the largest and most commercial with sales to Waitrose and all.

Phil also drinks wine.

It is owned and run by a true 'persona deliziosa' called Phil Rossi. Phil has a full programme of concerts and events at the vineyard. He serves teas and meals and presents plays films and what not. He is also a very kindly help to those of us who try to grow vines nearby.

All Phil's wines are good but for us one stands out: Phil's Oaken Grove Pinot Noir.

As with so many British producers this Pinot Noir is a by-product of making sparkling wine  and is therefore not often or copiously made as a mono-varietal. It is however sensational and if you can find a better English or Welsh Pinot Noir we would like to hear about it.
