Sideritis is an orphan grape. Nobody knows who the parents were. It is also rare. So rare information about how many hectares there are of Sideritis is hard to come bay. Everyone is agreed that it is planted mainly near Patras on the Pelopponese Peninsula and also in some of the Greek islands and in Macedonia
The grapes are used for dessert as well as wine. They are one of those pink grapes like Pinot Gris and Souvignier Gris which are rather lovely to behold and often have a promise of sweetness.
Tetramythos is always a reliable address and their Sideritis is stunning. We bought it at Noble Fine Liquor, Broadway Market, London. You should too.
